As you likely know, John Davis recently became executive director of The Rewilding Institute and editor of Rewilding Earth. In an interview with Rewilding Earth podcast host, Jack Humphrey, that was released yesterday (“John Davis On Rewilding In The Northeast“), John waxed wise, witty, and — as ever — wild, wild, wild.
In tidy terms, he summed up the concept of rewilding:
Rewilding, in essence, is giving the land back to wildlife and wildlife back to the land. – John Davis (Source: Rewilding Distilled)
John lavished lyric praise on the importance of honoring (and restoring) wild beauty. From American Eels to American Chestnuts, and cougars to landlocked salmon, their conversation ranged from large to small scale rewilding, and even highlighted a local success story that will be familiar to our readers.
