Vintage Postcard: Essex Main Street Looking North

Every Monday we share a vintage image on the Essex on Lake Champlain Facebook page and invite our viewers to play some Vintage Essex Trivia. The photo above was the one shared last week.

Do you recognize the scene on this old postcard? The photo caption tells us it is “Main Street, Looking North, Essex, NY”— so we know we’re on Main Street, but where exactly?

We’ve had one guess and I think it’s a good one:

Dianne Lansing I think this was taken from near the top of Bull Run Hill. Those sidewalks were most welcome, I’m sure.
