During April 15-17, the cozy village of Essex became lively with yogis, filtering in and out of the College for Every Student Conference Center. This was the much-anticipated Wellness Weekend with Todd Norian, founder of Ashaya Yoga. Organized by Michelle Maron, owner of Lake Champlain Yoga & Wellness, this three-day event drew over 100 people representing all levels of yogic practice, from local towns and spanning across New York City, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
Todd Norian is a widely recognized instructor as well as a jazz musician, and his teaching style revolves around precise alignment with focus on opening the heart, both physically and spiritually. He expresses his style as teaching yoga with the intention “to awaken others to their inherent potential for unlimited joy, vitality, and fulfillment.” The weekend consisted of four distinct sessions, each between two and three hours in length, the physical practice enhanced by inspirational commentary. Saturday’s sessions were accompanied by lunch at the Essex Inn, freshly prepared by Green Goddess caterers of Lake Placid.
