You CAN Do It! Canning Basics
Class 1: Pressure Canning
Hands-on workshop with Barbara Kunzie
Suggested donation: $5
Come demistify the pressure canner. If you’ve never used one this is your chance to try it out and see what it can do for your own pantry.
Workshop leader Barbara Kunzie has been working at Essex Farm for several years, milling grains, making cheese, and lots of other specialties. She just completed a master preservationist course and will be sharing her knowledge and techniques in the Grange Kitchen. More classes will follow if there is interest.
The Grange is fully equipped with several pressure canners and other canning supplies and equipment. It is certified as a commercial kitchen and is available for use by home-canners and value-added food producers. (Community Kitchen – Whallonsburg Grange Hall)
