You know summer is beginning in Essex, NY, when the Essex Ice Cream Cafe opens. Located right off the Essex-Charlotte ferry dock, the shop has been selling ice cream to locals and visitors alike for many years.
Along with the ice cream the shop is known for during the summer, the cafe now serves fresh daily lunch specials, usually wraps and panini sandwiches.
The cafe is also serving brewed-to-order espresso, cappuccino and other coffee drinks prepared using gourmet Intelligentsia coffee beans which are also available for sale along with other local merchandise including Adirondack granola, maple syrup and a dashing array of Essex, NY merchandise.
